Why Do It?
National
Pro-life T-shirt Day (NPLTD) is aimed at raising the awareness of the daily
murder of over 3,200 babies by abortion. It is a key part of ending
abortion as we work to have America recognize the personhood of all
children, from the moment of fertilization. In doing so, we will
extend to these children the basic rights that every American
enjoys. In order to raise awareness, we need people out there in
public who will get the message out—this is where the T-shirts come
in.
Nearly 50 million babies have been killed since the Supreme Court’s Roe v.
Wade decision. Currently, that means over 3,200 babies are killed
each day. We do our work primarily for the babies. Truthfully,
though, abortion does not just affect the babies who are killed, but
their mothers, fathers, siblings and even the rest of us. Those
deaths are plainly wrong.
It doesn’t take a lot to stop it—we just
have to stand up and announce that this tragedy cannot be allowed to
continue. For some that may involve protesting in front of a Planned
Parenthood or participating in a march.
This day, however, is about
raising awareness through wearing a simple T-shirt and getting
everyone to stop and think about it, if only for a moment. To really
make an impact, we need as many people as possible to wear their
shirts and stand up for the rights of the pre-born. It may seem like
something small, but it will make a difference.
